Railway Lecco-Sondrio

The Lecco-Sondrio line, completed in 1892, was the first major railway line in the world to be electrified in 1902 and about that time the longest track with high-voltage three-phase alternating current.

The railway line continues to Tirano in Valtellina, where it connects with the Bernina railway to Switzerland.
